Years and years ago before the home day care, babies, and weird obsession with homeschooling, I was an elementary music teacher. I taught in several states and met thousands of students. So. Much. FUN!!
We would sing, play, and dance to our hearts' content. By the end of class there were smiles and giggles, and out of breath sweaty faces. So I would sing my song, and invite them to the carpet with my trusty rocking chair and stack of books. Even the toughest boys could be touched by a song in this setting. They were too tired to look at each other's faces, and too consumed with the story to care about saving face. I could try to narrow down my favorites, but I would fail miserably. So I'll just leave this here and let you decide.
There Was a Man and He Was Mad
The Fox Went Out on a Chilly Night
If You're Happy and You Know It
Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush
With a Little Help From My Friends
A Hole in the Bottom of the Sea
This is the House That Jack Built
There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly
The Bear Went Over The Mountain
He's Got the Whole World in His Hands
Walking in a Winter Wonderland
I hope you love them as much as I do!
Blessings on your journey,
Buckets and Berries
